Dr. Kristin Knierim

Dr. Kristin Knierim was raised in Knoxville and is excited to be treating her hometown family and friends. Her late father, Dr. Rupert Knierim, was also an orthodontist and practiced in Fountain City for over 30 years. She graduated in 1990 from Knoxville Catholic High School. After graduation, she attended Emory University where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in biology and then continued on to attend the University of Tennessee and received her Doctor of Dental Science degree.

After working as a general dentist for two years, Dr. Knierim attended a residency program at Indiana University. In 2005, she earned her master’s degree in orthodontics from Indiana University.

She maintains active memberships with the Second District Society, the Tennessee Dental Association, the American Dental Association®, the Southern Association of Orthodontics, and the American Association of Orthodontists. Dr. Knierim has been published in the American Journal of Orthodontics for her research, evaluating over 450 finished orthodontic cases. To keep up with the latest technology, Dr. Knierim attends continuing education courses throughout the year.

Dr. Knierim married her husband, Scott, in May 2008. They live in Knoxville and have three children, two dogs, and three horses. When she is not in her office creating beautiful smiles, she can be found outdoors, enjoying horseback riding, hiking, skiing, or biking.

Dr. Eric Hatten

Dr. Eric attended Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Biological Sciences and Chemistry. He then obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from West Virginia University. For his orthodontic specialty education, he decided to travel to Georgia where he married his fiancé Kaitlin, who is a registered nurse. Together, they moved to Tennessee to get back to the mountains and rivers they grew up loving.

Fun fact: Dr. Hatten has a cat named Harley and enjoys woodworking in his spare time.

Amanda

Amanda has worked as a dental assistant since 1997, and she joined our team in 2020. She enjoys working with patients of all ages and our awesome team. Amanda has two children, Finlee and Beckett. When not at the office, she enjoys doing arts and crafts.

Andrea

Andrea (Andi) has been a team member since 2018. She is a registered dental assistant and loves orthodontics. She enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, and cheering on her husband, Chad, from the pit box during NASCAR Xfinity races. She has a German Shepherd named Harley and a cat named Jazmine. She and her family have worked the Souvlakia Greekfest booth every year for as long as she can remember. When asked why she chose the specialty of orthodontics versus other dental specialties, she stated she enjoys watching a smile in process.

Courtney

Courtney has been with our team since she began her dental assisting career. She graduated from TCAT in 2017. She is married and spends her spare time with her fur babies, Camper and Loretta. She loves music and anything outdoors, especially camping with her family. She enjoys the process of creating beautiful smiles through orthodontics.

Reagan

Reagan attended the Dental Staff School in Knoxville, and she joined our team as a dental assistant in May 2021. Her favorite part of being part of our practice is working with her friends and seeing people become happier with their smiles. Reagan’s family includes her parents and four sisters, and she enjoys hiking, fishing, playing with her dogs, Minnow and Nala, and hanging out with her family.

Stephanie

Stephanie is our office manager. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and chemistry from East Tennessee State University. She enjoys being able to collaborate and work together with her fellow team members. Stephanie is an active birder, and in her free time, she enjoys traveling, crafting, and photography.

Autumn

Autumn is one of our treatment coordinators as well as our lab tech. She has been with us for nearly 2 years and is a registered dental assistant. When she is not welcoming patients to our practice, or crafting retainers and appliances, you can find her spending time with her family (including her dog Tide), going to the movies, or watching football! She chose orthodontics specifically to help people get started on their journey to a perfect smile and loves to see people love their smile!

Julie

Julie has been with us for a little over 2 years and is a member of our very talented assisting team. She is a registered dental assistant and loves being involved in the process of creating a beautiful smile, as well as seeing people’s confidence increase as a result. She has a miniature golden doodle named Millie and when she is not constructing brand new smiles, she loves to spend time with friends and family at the lake!
